One of the more eye-catching styles of macro photography is matching a brightly coloured subject with a blue background. To achieve the blue background it’s necessary to shoot in a style similar to achieving a black background macro photo: choose a subject with an open background that you can get under and shoot up. The other main thing to keep in mind is the need to shoot with a relatively slow shutter speed while maintaining enough stability to not cause camera shake. This style of photo is best taken in the shallows or during mid-day in order to attain a shutter speed of 1/60 or higher.
